BACK TO BLACK.

The late and great, Amy Winehouse, said it best, “I go back to black.” “Going back to black” simply means going back to what you know or returning to somewhat of a safety net. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. Now this phrase can go in many directions and can be interpreted in different ways, but because I like to keep it positive, let’s take going Back to Black in its literal sense. Wearing all black is always an old “safe bet” that everyone looks great in. Today’s look was inspired by my favorite artist Amy Winehouse. I woke up in the morning with Amy on my mind and I instantly had to play the vinyl version of my favorite album, Back to Black. After sitting on my bed, staring into my closet, while listening to the record spin, I needed to decide what I was going to wear for that day. The weather was a bit over cast and I was uninspired. Then my angel Amy, who never lets me down, reminded me that inspiration is everywhere. Listening to the dark and emotionally driven album, I decided to dress in all black, put on a graphic t-shirt with Amy’s photo printed on it, and take on the day. I added a white long sleeve t-shirt underneath the black top, to give the outfit some depth. I pulled out my Givenchy knit cap, slouchy tube socks, carrot fit cropped pants, all black Ray-Ban shades, Balenciaga Triple S sneakers, and Gucci belt bag to complete the look. Anytime I can pay homage to one of my favorite singers, then its an outfit worth posting. Keeping with the theme of going back to something familiar, I visited the Highlight Room in Hollywood, for one of my favorite and frequent cocktails titled, “call me by my name.” This tasty treat mixes Rosè infused Vodka with fresh juices and berries. The next time you want to go “Back to Black,” remember revisiting someone or something from your past can be liberating and not always a bad idea, as long as it is healthy for your soul.

And always remember…

DRESS ACCORDINGLY AND DRINK RESPONSIBLY!
